Deadlines becoming more dead

Deadline - important buzzword in corporate or sometimes in the case of any commercial work. Every work should have deadline but how much it should have? There is no limit as such.
Now days, it's becoming more and more tight in some of the fields. Competition and customer's demand for early product/assignment are the two primary reasons for this.  Customer is becoming impatient in these days.  They want everything in lesser time. Sometimes the work is urgent but many times it's not. Only because of their Obduracy or strong desire, they forced the opposition to do the work as soon as possible.
Population is root cause of all of this. To get the job done people are ready to work for delivering in lesser time by taking compromising with their health and maybe other things.
Indiscipline is also playing a major role here.  Many times people forget things required for their next plan of action. At 11th hour when somebody reminds them, they outsource that work to third party with only one condition - urgent and finest delivery. We can put ourselves into that bracket as well. If you take a look at small examples like giving our clothes to Laundry just before going to important ceremony, Take vehicle to the garage for servicing after due date or expected time, giving some garments to tailor for our suits and clothes just before major festival, we are showing laziness or indiscipline. Then we expect fast delivery from these people.
Increasing entrepreneurship is also a reason for this.  Big organizations having a monopoly in some of the fields.  They can set their own timelines irrespective of the need of the customer. Entrepreneurs are ready to work day and night for their work for their growth. They are ready to deliver in lesser time keeping an eye on more projects in future.  Due to this competitiveness, big organizations are also forced to set tight deadlines by adopting some different process models or putting more people on the work.
To achieve these deadlines, we put everything from our side. But one thing is sure we cannot do this throughout the life and should not compromise with our health. The motto behind our hardworking is to live a peaceful and happy life. If we losing both these factors then why we are not thinking in other way.  Do we know that how long we will run in this direction?

I heard in old wars there was basic rule. War has to be stopped at the time of sunset and then resume again after sunrise on the next day. Our ancestors followed this rule at their time while doing war, then why cannot we while doing our normal work. We have to set something like this by mutual understanding from all people. Then only we can enjoy our life while hardworking. Otherwise this is becoming worst and worst every day.
